Part One

This year’s spring break was probably the most anticipated break ever. I had received so many disappointing news leading up to spring break, that it was time for me to take a break.

Seattle, Washington is where I found myself this year. I got to spend time with family and friends I had not seen in awhile. However, the main purpose of this trip was to explore work opportunities within my career field. I had an interview with a company (shall remain unnamed), and got to see what they do.

Seattle is a place I instantly fell in love with. The vibes given off were a mixture of both California and New York City.

I honestly see myself living in Seattle if I were forced to live in the United States. It is a very diverse city, with a lot of things to do in comparison to Des Moines. I also felt more at home in Seattle as the East African community there is huge and extremely welcoming. The weather there is amazing (even though the people there say I visited at the right time), and getting around Seattle is super convenient with their public transportation the state provides.

Seattle is more of a digital marketing city, so a little off compared to what I want to do, but not too far off. However, the city still has opportunities for me.
